Jost Zetzsche

Jost Zetzsche is a translation industry and translation technology consultant, a widely published author on various aspects of translation and localization, and an ATA-certified English-to-German technical translator. 1999 Jost co-founded International Writers' Group, LLC, on the Oregon coast. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, he earned a Ph.D. in the field of Chinese translation history and linguistics at the University of Hamburg. He is a highly sought-after speaker who has given speeches and workshops at dozens of conferences around the world, including keynote speeches at conferences for the International Federation of Translators, the Language Company Division of the ATA, the European and American machine translation associations, InterpretAmerica, and at various conferences for German, Swiss, French, Argentinean, Russian, Ukrainian, Mexican, Hungarian, and Polish translation professionals. His computer guide for translators is now in its eleventh edition, and his technical journal for the translation industry goes out to more than 10,000 translation professionals. In 2012, Penguin published his co-authored Found in Translation, a book about translation and interpretation for the general public. He sits on the editorial board for MultiLingual Magazine and the Journal of Internationalisation and Localisation.

The past 20 years have seen Anu contribute to the growth of three Nordic RLVs from modest start-ups to streamlined organisations. Since 2002, she has devoted her people skills and operational management ability to Sandberg Translation Partners Ltd, spearheading the company’s growth from a staff of 45 in 2012 to 100 in 2015, while also doubling revenue in the same period. She was promoted to Managing Director in September 2015.In 2014, Anu created an “Introduction to the Translation Industry” course for the University of Helsinki and inspired an entire team of industry peers to teach it. She also volunteers for the European Language Industry Association as well as the UK Institute of Translating and Interpreting.

She is a member of the board and a self-employed translator of English and Danish – with other languages ’on the side’ (Swedish, Norwegian, Spanish). She is actively involved in the association since many years. Pia is technically speaking still on maternity leave and arrives a few days ahead of the conference with her entire family. You might even get to see the littlies – two boys. When not disappearing into the realms of motherhood, Pia specialises in legal translation, interpreting and teaching.
