Twin Translations

Think Tank Interpreting Moderator

Interpreting ThinkTank participants will walk away with an understanding of what the most relevant topics in interpreting world are today and ideas on how they can adapt in their specific markets to ensure they are as future-proof as possible (in spite of robots). They may also be inspired by success stories from other regions and countries.

About Judy

Judy Jenner is a big fan of Scandinavia and must have been Swedish in her past life. She runs her boutique translation and interpreting business, Twin Translations, with her twin sister Dagmar. A native of Austria who grew up in Mexico City, Judy is a Spanish, German, and English business and legal translator and a federally court-certified Spanish court and conference interpreter in the United States (specifically, in Las Vegas). She has an MBA in marketing and a master’s degree in conference interpreting and serves as spokesperson for the American Translators Association, writes the blog Translation Times, and pens the “Entrepreneurial Linguist” column for The ATA Chronicle. She is the co-author of The Entrepreneurial Linguist: The Business-School Approach to Freelance Translation.  She teaches interpretation at the University of California-San Diego and at her alma mater, the University of Nevada Las Vegas (yes, there is a university in Las Vegas). Judy flies a lot for her interpreting work and her special talent is (trying to) memorize airport codes.
