The association was founded on March 29, 2012, and brings together language professionals, interpreters and translators.

The purpose of the association is to promote the continuous, sustainable development of the entire language industry, regardless of whether its members are involved in the spoken or written word. This includes maintaining high standards and ethics in the industry. In addition, the public, companies, interest groups and authorities should gain a better understanding of the importance of a professional language industry.

Our work is based on three principles:

Collaboration on issues that affect the entire industry, such as: Accurate interpretation in courts or health care is a legal and patient safety issue. Correct translation of websites is becoming increasingly important in a globalized and digitalized business world.

Capacity to act on issues affecting the industry. For example, influencing the public sector to set relevant requirements and not to compromise on quality in public procurement.

Expertise in all issues affecting the industry. Språkföretagen should be a knowledge resource for members as well as the general public, companies, interest groups and authorities.
