Pirkko Trpevski Kyllönen

Pirkko is born in Finland and came to Sweden in 1980. She is Authorised Interpreter in Finnish and Spanish, specialising in Healthcare Interpreting, as well as Authorised Translator from Finnish into Swedish.Founder and Co-owner of Språkservice Sverige AB, Head of Business Development for interpreting services, as well as Senior Advisor. Språkservice Sverige AB was founded by Pirkko in 1995 together with her husband Antonijo Trpevski (also an Authorised Interpreter and Translator) and brother-in-law Lenart Trpevski.The company is currently the leading provider of interpreting and translation services in Sweden, mainly servicing the public sector.Pirkko is also Committee Member of the industry organisation The Association of Swedish Language Service Providers

Klaus Fleischmann

Klaus studied translation and IT in Vienna, holds an MA in Conference Interpreting from Monterey, California, and a MAS in Technical Communication Krems, Austria. In 1996, he founded Austria-based Kaleidoscope, a company implementing content, translation, and terminology management processes for internationally active companies. In addition, Kaleidoscope develops online collaboration software for terminology workflow, translator query management, in-country review etc., making the translation quality process comprehensible and strategically manageable. In 2007, he became CEO of Austria´s leading LSP, eurocom Translation Services GmbH. Always active in the industry, Klaus got voted into the Gala Board of Directors in 2015.

Leena Peltomaa

Leena studied literature and German philology at the University of Helsinki. Since 2001, she has worked in the language services industry as a translator, project manager and customer service director.For the past five years, Leena has been a member of AAC Global’s management team, and since beginning of 2016, a partner.Her special interests include customer experience, account management and delivery processes, as well as the concept of quality in translation. Leena is currently a member of the Board at Kites, the national association for language technology and multilingual communication, a position she also held in 2013-2014.

Salvatore “Salvo” Giammarresi is Head of Global Content & Technology @ PayPal.Previously he held the roles of: Senior Director Localization Engineering at Yahoo!; Vice President of Products at HomeGain.com; Director of International Product Management at Homestore.com; Senior Localization Manager at Kana; and Engineering Program Manager at Electronics for Imaging. Salvo holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Palermo (Italy), where he later was a visiting professor, teaching localization. Salvo is a published author on the topics of globalization, localization project management, international product management, formulaic sequences, translation studies and translation memory systems.
He started his professional career as an Italian-English-Italian freelance translator.Salvo is a Board Member @Translators without Borders, providing access to knowledge via humanitarian translations; and a Board Member @Mosaicoon, a video marketplace. Salvo also advises a few startups and their C-level staff on general management and global expansion.

Tarja Karjalainen

Tarja is a Senior Localization Designer at Polar, currently in charge of web and mobile application localization and UI writing. In addition to localization project management she focuses on processes, tools training and localization quality. Originally a freelance translator and translation project manager, Tarja has hands-on experience from both vendor and client sides. Tarja is passionate about translation technology, agile localization and user experience.
